Project Overview at Liddell BESS
The Liddell Battery Energy Storage System is one of Australia’s largest grid-scale battery projects, located at the former Liddell Power Station site in the Hunter Region of New South Wales. With a capacity of 500MW / 1,000MWh, the project forms part of the Hunter Energy Hub and plays a significant role in supporting the transition from traditional power generation to renewable energy.
Delivered within an active and evolving energy precinct across civil and electrical scopes, the project required more than just boots on the ground. Technically complex work at this scale depends on the right people overseeing quality, managing scope and making sure standards are met at every stage of the build.
White-Collar Recruitment and Site Support
TradeConnex placed 10 workers on site throughout the project, with the majority in white-collar roles focused on project oversight and quality assurance. The team included multiple Quality Assurance personnel and a Civil Supervisor, supported by forklift and excavator operators on the ground. Works covered substation construction, high-voltage connections and battery infrastructure installation.
While TradeConnex is well known for supplying trade and labour across construction and renewables, Liddell is a strong example of our growing capability in white-collar and professional recruitment. From QA personnel to site supervision, we place the people who keep complex energy projects on track, on budget and built to standard.
