Project Overview at Wellington North Solar Farm

The Wellington North Solar Farm is a 425MWdc solar project located near Wellington in the Orana region of New South Wales, approximately 50km south-east of Dubbo. Sitting adjacent to the 200MWdc Wellington Solar Farm, the two sites together form a solar hub with a combined installed capacity of 625MWdc, one of the largest renewable energy precincts in New South Wales.

Workforce Support During Construction

Now fully operational, the project generates 925,000MWh of renewable electricity per year, enough to power around 152,500 homes annually and the equivalent of taking 244,000 cars off the road each year.

Beyond its energy output, the project was designed with a strong focus on environmental and community impact. The site protects and enhances 163 hectares of native vegetation and fauna habitat, preserves significant Aboriginal heritage items in consultation with local stakeholders, and supports the Clontarf Foundation’s Wellington academy, which works to improve education and employment outcomes for young Aboriginal men.

TradeConnex supplied over 25 skilled workers throughout the construction phase, including labourers and operators supporting key stages of the solar panel installation across the site.
