We're working on a large-scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS) project in regional QLD and are looking for a Site Electrical Engineer to support the final stages of delivery.
This is a hands-on site-based role where you'll be heavily involved in installation, commissioning, and coordination of electrical works across a utility-scale renewable energy project.
If you've worked on solar, BESS, substations, or HV infrastructure, this is a great opportunity to step into a fast-moving project and make an immediate impact.
What You'll Be Doing
- Overseeing electrical installation and commissioning activities on site
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to spec
- Supporting planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Managing switchgear, transformers, inverters, and cabling installation
- Conducting site inspections, testing, and QA/QC checks
- Troubleshooting issues during construction and commissioning
- Ensuring compliance with AS/NZS standards and WHS requirements
- Liaising with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders
What We're Looking For - Electrical Engineering qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Experience on utility-scale projects (solar, BESS, substations, or similar)
- Strong understanding of:
- HV/LV systems
- Electrical installation & commissioning
- Australian standards (AS/NZS 3000 etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specs
- Experience working with subcontractors and site teams
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
