About the Role 

Virtus Infrastructure is a fast-growing provider of mechanical and civil construction solutions, working on key projects across water, rail, road, and electrical infrastructure. We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth, build strategic relationships, and secure new opportunities within these sectors. 
  
What You’ll Do: 
  • Research opportunities in water, rail, and electrical sectors.   
  • Develop and execute strategies to target new clients.   
  • Build and maintain relationships with Tier 1 builders and government agencies. 
  • Pursue new business through networking and outreach, converting leads into partnerships.   
  • Prepare competitive, clear bids aligned with client needs.   
  • Track prospects from contact to contract, providing regular updates.   
  • Develop strategic alliances with subcontractors and suppliers.   
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet client expectations.   
  • Drive sales and revenue growth through new and existing contracts. 
  
What We’re Looking For: 
  • Extensive experience in business development within the infrastructure, construction, or engineering sectors. A strong background in water, rail, and road projects is highly desirable. 
  • A degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the infrastructure industry, including key players, market trends, and competitive landscape. Familiarity with the tendering and contracting process is essential. 
  • Excellent networking skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships. Ability to establish credibility and trust with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Strong sales acumen with a history of meeting or exceeding revenue targets. Expertise in contract negotiation, deal closing, and account management. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate value propositions and project benefits to clients. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to identify market trends, opportunities, and potential challenges.
