About the Role We're searching for a sharp and reliable Accounts/Bookkeeper to help keep our numbers in check. This part-time role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to work within a high-performing and supportive team based in Chippendale.
Your Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and reconciliations
Prepare payroll and ensure superannuation compliance
Assist with BAS preparation and liaise with external accountants
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
Process and manage prepayments and accruals
Keep financial records tidy and accurate
Support management with ad hoc financial queries and reporting
Handle payroll tax, superannuation submissions, and end-of-month adjustments
Manage the accounts inbox and ensure timely responses
Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations
What You Bring to the Table
Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting and Bookkeeping, or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper or accounts officer
Solid working knowledge of Xero; experience with Astute Payroll is a bonus
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Construction industry experience? A plus, but not a deal-breaker
